Vital to the success of your Ambush Indoor/Outdoor Insect Trap.

To insert a sticky paper in the Ambush Indoor trap, hold the insect trap and open the storage box by pushing the “Push” button from the side. Take the Ambush sticky paper and remove the protective layer to expose the sticky surface. Place the sticky side up on the bottom of the trap.

To insert a sticky paper in the Ambush Outdoor trap, open the catch container on the bottom of the trap. Take the Ambush sticky paper and remove the protective layer to expose the sticky surface. Place the sticky side up on the bottom of the mesh.

Indoor Trap Is Effective

Pros: This indoor trap is very effective. Uses little power. Fan reasonably quiet. The sticky trap mat lasts a reasonable time. Good looking unit. Portable. Preferable to using aerosol fly spray.
Cons: The power cord (USB) is way too short. The replacement sticky trap-mats are expensive for what they are.

We use it next to our kitchen compost bucket (lid on) to control fruit flies and flour moths and the occasional mosquito. We have it switched on all the time but with the light sensor setting switched on. This keeps the unit in the dormant position during the day (fan off. uv light off) when the unit is least effective and then starts up when it (the room) becomes dark. This is when the UV light is most effective in drawing in the insects and the fan works by sucking the flying beast into the container at the bottom where the sticky mat catches them permanently.

The fan uses little power and the unit could be used in a camper trailer or caravan as it is powered by USB. It is a good looking unit too with subtle graphics on the side so it is unobtrusive wherever you decide to place it.

The major drawback to this unit is the very short power cord. This limits where one can place it in your room and kitchens especially have limited amounts of power sockets available. I had to go online and purchase at extra expense a USB extension cable to enable us to place the trap where it was going to do the most effective work whilst not getting in the way in our kitchen. Others may find this not an issue. I do feel the manufacturer should a least double the length in the box.

The sticky mats will last a season, depending on the extent of your insect problem. We have fly screens so it is a minimal issue but fruit flies seems to appear from nowhere and this unit shines in dealing with these chaps! Replacement packs of mats are on the little expensive side but a pack should last a few seasons depending on the extent of your insect problem.

It is preferable to using aerosol sprays to control small flying insects. It won't deal with flies, wasps, etc. though. You may have to use a good old fly swat or fly spray with these boys.

Do I recommend this unit? Yes. For indoor use only.

This product works really well, the CO2 generator lasts for quite some time - citric acid and sodium bicarbonate make for a harmless mix. Simple to set up but works extremely well.
Also strongly recommend the indoor trap, it is very effective.
